Standlake Arena  - Season  Opener - 12 February 2012

The big freeze ended on the first regular race day of our 2012 season. Although the spectator areas and pits were all white (at the start of the day at least) the snow had been cleared from the track and, given the conditions, there was a healthy turnout in all classes, with exactly 100 cars in the pits. The F2/Superstox provided some of the best action, but there was also good close racing from all the non-contact classes and, despite a smaller than usual field, the Bangers (of the "nudge & spin" Street Banger variety) were entertaining.
